I have over 12 years of Professional Baking & Cake decoration expertise and I have been running a baking business since 2012. I am the founder of Baking with Amari (formerly Amari Baking Center), a business that offers Online Baking Classes, Baking Recipe books and Baking for Profit training, advice and mentorship. I am also the founder of Chiffon cakes by Amari Bakery. I help individuals start home-based baking business or small bakery business shops by providing the necessary business skills, strategies and knowledge required. I also help small baking business owners streamline, make & increase sales.

  • Who can join this class?

    Any individual from anywhere in the world who has access to internet and has a device to access the content (laptop, PC or Smart Phone). You also need to make sure you can make time to watch the class videos, make time to practice (approximately 10 to 20 hours a week) and show your work in the support group which means you need the tools, equipment and ingredients required. You also need to be able to read and understand English as the course is taught entirely in English.

  • What do I need to participate in this course?

    First; you need to be able to pay to enroll in the class in order to access the content: Kenyan direct MPESA payment price is Kshs. 10,000. You can also pay $99 and enroll directly from here (this is also the price for non-Kenyan payments). Secondly; you need to be able to purchase the required tools, equipment and ingredients required for class; starting with an oven.   • Can I watch the Class videos at any time?

    Yes you can watch any time of the day that you're available within the 6 months access period. The classes are pre-recorded videos available to watch anytime. As long as you have an internet connection and a PC, Laptop or Smart Phone; you can watch the classes.

  • What if I need clarifications on class content and I have questions. How do you offer support?

    Support is offered in our private WhatsApp group where you and your other classmates from your cohort will also be part of. The instructor will post relevant updates, learning guide schedules, available test dates and even share when there will be Live Q&As being done to answer questions in the group. You will also share your practice in the group in form of photos and short videos, where you will get instant feedback, in the same group. This course also has a Private support Facebook group where the instructor will go live when an in-depth explanation or demonstration is necessary.

  • Will this course work for me even if I am not from the African region?

    This online class contains techniques and methods used by professional bakers all around the world; these are tried & tested techniques related to cake making and decoration that are not bound to regions and can be used by anyone in the world. Relevant ingredients tips and substitutions are also mentioned in the various class sessions where necessary. However; when it comes to the Baking for Business module - please note that some tips and advice will be geared towards an African-based audience as our main business location is in Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa. We recommend doing your own research on local laws on legal requirements for starting a cake business in your region. Make sure to also get information on your local taxes as well. We recommend having a solid understanding of the English language as the whole course is in English.

  • Why is there a deadline for enrollment? Can’t I just enroll at any time?

    This is a very in-depth course that requires support from an instructor especially in terms of feedback on practice and also speedy clarification on questions you may have as a student. Due to that; the course intake happens every 3 to 4 months and we do an intake or a cohort for a specific period e.g. August to September 2025. This allows for a guided and structured learning process for all students in the group and required support. For this course; Maureen Kamari also offers a signed and stamped Certificate of Participation (proof of attending and actual practical results from the online course) for any student who goes through the entire course; proves their practice for ALL content shared and passes all the theory and practical tests for each module as provided in the guidelines. For this to happen efficiently; it’s important to run the course in a specific time period where the student can get as much support and feedback required in the time period they are enrolled in. This is why you have to enroll during a specific enrollment period as stated above.

  • Can I make payments in installments to enroll?

    You can; though there are specific terms and conditions for this. Installment payments must be limited to a 30-day period of payments and all payments made are non-refundable.
